Lombard Street

A street in San Francisco, California is famous for its steep, one-block section, featuring eight hairpin turns. Section is located in the Russian Hill between Hyde and Leavenworth Streets. The design was first proposed by Carl Henry, because the original block was too steep for vehicles, which leads to lower values. The street was then reconstructed with Henry roller coaster design in 1922, and property values rose.
