A do-it-yourself iPad assembled from scratch by an enterprising Chinese man named Xinying Liu. Responding to hot demand from China's young enthusiasts for Apple's popular tablet PC but cannot afford it, Liu's DIY shows users a way to build an iPad-like tablet using computer parts such as a touch screen and a generic case with a keypad that runs on Windows.

Dubbed "DIY IPAD 3", a 20-minute demonstration video was posted on China's YouTube or Youku which quickly spread onto many Chinese and international websites.
